## In short

Players like the feel of the combat and playing with friends or family. The latest reviews are kinder, and many suggest waiting for a sale.

## What players say

Players enjoy the combat and co-op but find the gear shallower than the first game’s and the campaign short. Launch problems on Linux and with account linking have eased since the 1 October update.

- **The gear has lost its depth.** Weapons, armour and artifacts show no damage or duration figures, so players can’t compare them, and each item takes a single enchantment. Fans of the first game see this as the biggest step back.
- **The campaign is short.** Many finish the story in under a day of play and find mostly repeating storms and side quests after it. Even players who enjoy the game say there’s little left to do, and several find the price high for that.
- **Online and offline heroes are kept apart.** A hero made for online play can’t be taken offline, and playing alone on an online hero can still mean waiting in a queue.
- **Launch locked some players out.** Linux and Steam Deck players couldn’t start the game until the 1 October update, and account linking failed for many, which also blocked the capes. Players still report linking problems after that update.
- **The fights feel good.** Combat is the part players praise most, even those who dislike the rest. Its critics agree on the feel and find the builds and enemies shallow.
- **Mouse players miss WASD.** Click-to-move also attacks, which leads to accidental fights and missed jumps. Players on a controller mostly avoid the problem.
