# MW4 DMZ map and how DMZ works: Hajin, the FOB and getting out alive

> Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ takes place in Hajin, with the X01 Black Site added in Season 1. The map’s points of interest, how a deployment works from infil to exfil, and what keeps you alive.

DMZ is Modern Warfare 4’s extraction mode. You drop into Hajin solo or with a squad, take on missions, fight soldiers and other players, and leave by exfil with what you found.[^1]

Imjin Farmland and Wolves Stadium are also Ground War maps in multiplayer.[^2]

Season 1 adds the **X01 Black Site**, a weapons facility nobody had found before, on 6 November.[^4]

## How a deployment works

1. **Gear up at the Forward Operating Base.** It’s your command center between deployments, where you upgrade it and pick your orders.[^3]
2. **Pick your orders.** DMZ Orders are your missions, from story missions to operations built fresh each match and side jobs.[^1][^2]
3. **Infil.** Go in quietly on foot, or fast and loud by helicopter or plane. If you have no in-game money, a Free Loadout gets you started.[^1]
4. **Hunt Lieutenants.** A killed Lieutenant gives a lot of DMZ XP and cash and can drop a key to their own loot room.[^2]
5. **Exfil.** Leave by helicopter or skyhook. Not every deployment ends in success.[^1]

## What keeps you alive

- **Tourniquet.** A new item that heals you from downed to wounded when you don’t have a self-revive.[^1]
- **MIA rescues.** Spend in-game cash at the base to send a team after operators you lost.[^1]
- **Bounties.** Killing other players makes you a target, and a leaderboard tracks the most successful bounty hunters.[^3]
