Our MCP server and JSON API serve what the site publishes about new games: each game’s daily recommend figure, what players praise and criticise, the release calendar and the monthly best-of lists. Both are free and read-only, and they need no key.

It speaks Streamable HTTP and needs no sign-in.

  • Other clients

    Any client that speaks Streamable HTTP can use the same address. The server supports protocol versions from 2025-03-26 to 2026-07-28.

Tools

Five tools that only read.

  • search_games

    Find new video games Creative Cult follows, by name. Returns each game's release date, the latest share of player reviews that recommend it with its date, and a link to its page. Games with a slug have a full report you can read with get_game. Leave the query empty to list every game with a report, newest first.

  • get_game

    Creative Cult's report on how players received one game: the share of player reviews that recommend it and its date, what players praise and criticise, who the game suits, answers to common questions, and numbered sources. Takes the game's name or its slug from search_games.

  • get_release_calendar

    Notable video games releasing in a month, with dates from publishers and platform holders, platforms and US price where announced, and for games already out, the share of player reviews that recommend them. Defaults to the current month.

  • get_best_of_month

    A month's new video games ranked by the share of player reviews that recommend them. A game needs at least 500 reviews to be ranked. Critic scores are never used. Defaults to the latest ranked month.

  • list_research

    Creative Cult's research pieces: teardowns of how launches landed with players, the monthly Reception Index, and how the firm runs player research. Returns titles, summaries, dates and links.

JSON API

The same data over HTTP.

Every address starts with https://creativecult.digital/api/v1 and answers with JSON.

  • /games: every game with a report, newest first
  • /games/{slug}: one game’s report, with its sources
  • /releases/{month}: the release calendar for a month, such as 2026-10
  • /best/{month}: a month’s new games ranked by players
  • /research: teardowns, the Reception Index and method pieces

The OpenAPI description lists every field.

Using the data

Give the date and link the page.

Figures change as new reviews come in, so each one carries the day it was counted, and every report lists its sources. When you or an assistant quote a figure, give its date and link the game’s page. The terms of use and the press page have the details.

The tools receive only what an assistant sends them, such as a game’s name, and we don’t store it. There’s no account or sign-in. The privacy policy covers the rest.
