Path of Exile: Covens of Umbra (3.30): release date, the Covens league and the endgame changes

Path of Exile 3.30, Covens of Umbra, launches free on 13 November 2026. How the Covens league’s Fates, Viscera and Wickerman work, the Threads of Creation that replace Scarabs, the Atlas tree and loot overhaul, and when Curse of the Allflame ends.

Covens of Umbra is Path of Exile's 3.30 expansion, revealed at ExileCon 2026 in Auckland. It brings the Covens challenge league, a rebuilt endgame, a loot rework and new unique items.123 Everything below comes from Grinding Gear Games' own pages, checked on 7 November 2026.

When does Path of Exile 3.30 come out?

On 13 November 2026, Pacific time, free on PC and consoles.14 Grinding Gear Games hasn't posted the launch hour or the patch notes yet. The Curse of the Allflame challenge league ends at 1 p.m. PST on 9 November, so there are four days between the two leagues.3

How does the Covens league work?

Covenites perform gruesome rites to summon their Queen, and stopping them lets you bend the fate of Wraeclast. It works in five steps.1

  1. Disrupt the Coven's magicks in an area. You then choose a Fate for that area's boss.
  2. Each Fate makes the boss harder and richer. A fully empowered boss can be a real threat, with rewards to match.
  3. Kill the boss for its Viscera, a trophy you place on your own Wickerman to claim a scrap of the boss's power. Every campaign boss and every boss on an Atlas map has a Viscera of its own, so collect the Fates before the kill or you miss it.
  4. Take on Grim Fates in the Atlas. They empower the hardest bosses and drop Pinnacle Boss Viscera, the league's top trophies.
  5. Face the Coven Queen. Grinding Gear Games only hints that you may be able to hold her back.
