The bosses players find hardest
Hua, met just after the Hunt. Many players rate her harder than the story’s chapter bosses, and those who lose to her often come back after exploring and upgrading.2
- Move away from the white flower fields, and get clear when two or more red flowers close in, since they burst where they meet.
- When the white flowers land, block with full Sha-Chi, then dodge as she teleports behind you, because a red attack usually follows.
- Fight her when you find her. Players say she’s part of the Flesh Lily side quest, and optional bosses tied to side quests can cost you the quest if you leave them too late.
The three-faced puppet. Players who reach it early often leave it for later. Beating it with early weapons takes ten minutes or more of near-perfect play.2
Optional bosses in general. Players find most of them doable when you reach them, though usually harder than the story bosses, so it’s fine to come back once your weapons are stronger.2
What makes bosses easier
- Armybreaker. Its charged attack is hard to interrupt and breaks bosses’ guard so quickly that players call it a cheese build, though it’s less useful in the second half.3
- Scarlet Wraithblade. Once tempered and upgraded, it drains a boss’s Sha-Chi in seconds.3
- Practice deflects. Players say the deflect and dodge windows get tighter later, so learning them on early fights pays off.2
