The Olympus Guild addon: how to install it, join Olympus and use it

In the game, each player only sees the roster of their own guild, so nobody could tell how many Olympus guilds there were, who led them or where the army was. The Olympus Guild addon answers that in a window that looks like Blizzard's guild window and docks beside it.¹ It had 131,226 downloads on 6 November 2026, two days after WoW Forever launched, and its latest version is 1.5.1.²

It's a fan project by dnl_gentile, released under the MIT licence, and its author thanks Asmongold and his team for making it the army's addon.¹

How do I install the Olympus addon?

The easiest way is the CurseForge app or WowUp. Search for Olympus Guild, select your WoW Forever installation, and install. The app puts it in the right folder and keeps it updated.¹

By hand, it takes four steps:¹

1. Download the latest Olympus zip from the addon's Files tab or GitHub Releases.
2. Open your World of Warcraft folder, then the folder of the game version you play.
3. Unzip it into Interface\AddOns, so the addon ends up at AddOns\Olympus\Olympus.toc. Windows' Extract All adds a folder named after the zip, so move the Olympus folder up into AddOns if that happens.
4. Restart the game. If the addon list says it's out of date, tick Load out of date AddOns.

Since version 1.3.3 the zip holds more than one folder, and all of them go in AddOns.³ Guilds appear in the census a few minutes after one of their members with the addon comes online, and one install per guild is enough for that guild to show for everyone.¹

Who can use it?

Members of any guild with Olympus in its name, however it's spelled. OLYMPVS, Olimpus, Olympuz and Olympos all count, and so does the Alliance's <OLYMPIAN>, which the author approved by name.¹

Outside an Olympus guild, the addon offers one thing, the Join Olympus screen. It first asks "<Your Guild>? Disband immediately. What are you doing?" and then helps you in. It finds Olympus members online, suggests the guild the King opened first or the ones with the most free slots, and sends one of their officers a request you can edit, such as "Hi! I'd love to join Olympus. Does Olympus II have room for one more?" The officer sees it with Invite and Decline buttons.¹

Reaching Asmongold's layer

A busy zone runs as several copies, called layers, so you can stand where Asmongold is without seeing him. While he's online, the Census and the Realm show "Ask invite for Asmon Layer". Click it or type /oly hop, and the addon asks a few Olympus players on his layer who can invite you. Once the game moves you across, the addon takes you out of the group.¹

You have to be in his zone first, and the line tells you where he is if you aren't. His layer is known only while his crown shows on the map. An invite is accepted for you only from your own guild or a Lord or Captain the census confirms, and anyone else's waits for your click.¹

Finding a group

Raise a flag on the Board for a dungeon, raid, PvP or layer group, with a short note if you like. Everyone in Olympus on your ruleset and faction sees your name, level, class and guild, and a click on your card whispers you. A flag lasts an hour at most. You can also drop a camp with /oly camp so others reuse a fire that's already lit.¹

Its author shipped eight versions over launch: 1.4.0 on 4 November, then seven more on 5 November up to 1.5.1, which had 6,800 downloads by 6 November. Downloads rose by about 19,500 in the day after 5 November alone.^1,2

Is it safe to install?

The addon talks only through the game's own addon messages and has no server of its own. The one exception is Olympus Link, an optional way to prove a character is yours to the Olympus bot on Discord, which sends nothing until you say yes.¹ Its source code is public on GitHub.³
