WoW Forever talents: how they work, respecs, dual spec and Legacy Perks
Talents in World of Warcraft: Forever start at level 10, with milestone talents at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points and dual specialization at 40. Where to change them, what became baseline, and how the account-wide Legacy Perks work.
How talents work
- Your first talent point comes at level 10. The trees keep their familiar structure.1
- One-point milestone talents come at 11, 21 and 31 points, and a new one at 16.1
- To change talents, Legacy talents included, visit a class trainer in one of the major cities.1
- Dual specialization opens at level 40, so you can keep two builds.1
Talents that used to give other players a key buff, such as Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild, are now baseline for their classes, so you don’t spend points on them.2 Some old talents are baseline abilities now too. Consecration, for one, is learned by every Paladin at level 20.4 Blizzard says abilities and talents may still change.1
Legacy Perks: talents for your account
Legacy Perks are a second set of talent trees, bought with Legacy Points that your whole account shares.3
- Unlocking them. Most players get their first Legacy Point when a character reaches level 25. Reaching 150 in a crafting profession or exploring the whole world map also unlocks the system.3
- Earning points. There are 65 Legacy Challenges, one point each, such as reaching level 25, 45 and 60 with each class.3
- Spending them. Each character can spend up to 16 points at launch, and one character alone can earn up to 29, so you don’t need alts.3
The three Legacy Perk trees
| Tree | Examples of what it does |
|---|---|
| Professions | Bountiful Harvest (more scarce resources when gathering), Master Chef, Luremaster and Dedicated Study (a daily boost to skill-ups). |
| Adventure | Well Rested (more rested experience), Talented (talent points up to 5 levels early), Field Guide (shorter camp cooldown) and Frequent Flier (cheaper, faster flights). |
| Resourcefulness | Gourmand (longer food buffs), Diplomat (more reputation) and Reagent Economy (class abilities stop needing bought reagents). |
